EGHLID TUNNEL (TIMARGUN)

Located in central Iran, this tunnel starts from 12 km south of the city of Eghlid and runs towards the city of Yassuj.

The total length of the tunnel is 4,200 m. Construction of Eghlid tunnel was vital to alleviate the danger to the traveling public and to shorten the distance between Eghlid and Yassuj by 13 km. The Eghlid tunnel is currently the longest transportation tunnel in Iran.

he overall length is 2,600 m with a width of 10 m. It is a two-way route having a carriage width of 8 m and a clear height of 6.5 m.
